After graduation we follow up with a job hunting seminar that includes interview techniques training, resume building and the occasional guest speaker to prepare for your job search. One-on-one assistance is available for any graduate that needs it. Our job placement director is constantly seeking job leads for our graduates, that's what she does, that's all she does! When owners are not contacting us, we are contacting them. We also list all classifieds from local papers, in-the-biz publications, on-line job sites, and a listing of all the new bars, clubs and restaurants that open up, saving you hours of research. We then list ALL leads on our site on a daily basis for our graduates. We provide you a username/password and you simply log in on-line. Of course you can make an appointment anytime with our job placement director. While looking for work our graduates can also brush up on their bartender skills whenever they want, at no additional fee. We do work VERY HARD to provide leads for our graduates and do what ever we can to assist them; from leads, to resumes to working on their interviewing skills; however, our job placement program would mean nothing if we did not give our students the training to back it up. The RIGHT training REALLY does make the difference!
NO trade school (bartending or otherwise) can promise a job after graduation; however, the New York Bartending School has a proven track record and an effective job placement assistance program that has helped our graduates find work. We really do attribute our high placement record to our training and the confidence and persistence of our graduates. We are dedicated to finding every New York Bartending School graduate a job, we have and will continue to do all we can to try to achieve that goal, but we won't lie with a promise of a job to get students to sign up to our school. We can provide you the skills and prepare you for the interview, but we cannot take the interview for you! Our high job placement record is based on our unsurpassed training, our job hunting tips and our graduates confidence in their skills and their persistence to get out there and find a job!
ONE FINAL NOTE!
Please be careful of any training program (bartending schools, associations, on-line certification, on-line bar job programs and the many classifieds you read in the newspaper (Craig's List, Back Page, Village Voice, Daily News, etc), that promise certification and a bartending job for a fee). First of all it is against state law for trade schools to offer a guaranteed job, secondly it is impossible to do so, because it is the bar manager or owner doing the hiring, not the school and thirdly all you will be left with is a worthless diploma and no training!
