New York Bartending School: Licensed by the NY State Education Department

  Frequently Asked Questions

MUST BARTENDING SCHOOLS BE LICENSED?
---------------------------------------------------------------

YES! In New York ALL trade Schools MUST be licensed by the New York State Education Department. Unfortunately some are NOT! Schools licensed by the New York State Education Department's Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision have all met state mandated criteria for curriculum, facilities, teacher licensure and financial accountability.

Employers recognize licensed schools as quality institutions. Complaint process gives students access to regulatory agency and students' tuition is protected by a State controlled Tuition Reimbursement Account. A student has NO recourse when it comes to unlicensed schools.

Unfortunately all New York Bartending Schools are not the same! The quality of training varies widely from school to school. Remember, no manager and/or owner is going to hire any bartender until they have actually tried them behind the bar, so do your homework before choosing a bartending school, because the right training really does make a difference! Just as would never buy a car before looking under the hood; you should NEVER sign up to a bartending school without first comparing it with others!
That is why we offer a hands-on trial class (no fee; no obligations), so you can see our school and quality of training and ask all the questions you want. It would certainly be in your best interest to then visit other bartending schools and do the same before making a decision!
