TIPSŪ Alcohol Awareness Program
Most New York bartending schools either do not offer this
nationally recognized certification course, or
charge students another $50 to $100. The Goal of the
TIPSŪ Program is to establish acceptable standards
of practice for serving alcoholic beverages. The
TIPSŪ program provides intervention strategies for
handling difficult situations. It is also beneficial
in third-party liquor liability lawsuits, providing
a 'reasonable efforts defense'. If your facility
serves alcohol, TIPSŪ is a MUST program for your
employees! In some states all servers of alcohol are
required by law to have an Alcohol Awareness Card by
TIPS Ū (Training for Intervention Procedures.
